Job description

Part-time positions for a Specialist Tutors to tutor pupils with EAL. Part- time tutors are commencing as soon as possible. There are a variety of long term and short term positions available entirely dependent on your individual circumstances.

Tuition could take place in the young person's home, their residential care home, or an agreed public venue. The young people may have a variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, and could display challenging behaviour and have barriers to their learning. They could be extremely disengaged with education, and working at much lower levels than expected. Experience with young people of this nature would be beneficial - you must be able to build trust and rapport easily and be able to tap into what motivates them, as well as having the subject knowledge.

Each referral is usually for 8-10 hours per week, and you can take on as few or as many as you wish!

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or significant tutoring experience
  • A passion for supporting pupils with significant difficulties
  • Hold a qualification in TEFL or ESOL

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
