Careers Advisor 

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a Secondary Academy in Milton Keynes for a Careers Advisor to join them on a permanent basis as soon as possibe. 

  • Job Type: Full Time, Temp to Perm (permanent contract offer after 16 weeks)
  • Salary: £25,000-28,000
  • Location: Milton Keynes
  • Start Date: ASAP

Job Description: As a Careers Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting students as they make informed decisions about their educational and career journeys. You will provide tailored guidance, resources, and advice to help students identify their strengths, interests, and future goals. You’ll work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure that every student feels confident and prepared as they take their next steps toward the world of work, further education, or apprenticeships.

Responsibilities include:

- Deliver one-on-one career advice and guidance to students at all stages of their school journey.
- Develop and coordinate careers education programs and workshops, ensuring students have access to relevant and up-to-date career resources.
- Organise careers fairs, employer visits, and work experience opportunities to help students gain real-world insights.
- Provide support for university applications, apprenticeships, and job placements.
- Maintain strong links with local businesses, colleges, and universities to enhance career pathways for students.
- Track and monitor students’ progress and career aspirations, ensuring that every student has the support they need to achieve their goals.

Does this sound like a role for you? We are ideally looking for a Level 6 Qualified Careers Advisor who demonstrates:

- A passion for guiding young people and helping them realise their potential.
- A strong understanding of the career pathways available to students, including further education, apprenticeships, and employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience in a careers advisory or similar role, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- A proactive, organised, and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs and aspirations.
