Care Worker Assistants required in York

Teaching Personnel work with a client school based in Acomb, York that provide specialist education to Primary aged children with varying degrees of Special Educational Needs. The school has 15 classes with 6-8 children in each class, so cover requirements on a day to day and long term basis are high. The children's needs include Autism including Non-Verbal, PMLD, MLD, SLD and Physical Disabilities, including wheelchair bound.

The School look for candidates with a nurturing approach, but are firm and fair, as some of the students do have behavioural difficulties. If you have undergone recent training, such as safeguarding, team teach and moving & handling this will be advantageous in your application to working in the school and with Teaching Personnel. As a minimum requirement you need to have worked with either children or vulnerable adults with additional or complex needs for a year. The skills from the Care Sector are easily transferable and will be invaluable.
