PERMANENT Day Care Assistant required close to Blandford Forum, North Dorset!

Whatever your experience, we are looking for resilient, compassionate, engaging people willing to go above, beyond, and a little bit further. This is no ordinary job and there will be challenges but in return, the rewards you reap will be unmatched.

You will be working at a residential school for young people between the ages of 7-19 with Autism (ASC) and associated difficulties. Located in the glorious Dorset countryside with 28 acres of land for play and relaxation, this SEN school has many facilities such as a theatre, sports hall, indoor and outdoor riding areas, climbing wall, multiple safe play areas and a swimming pool.

Students have personalised and individualised programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young people to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.

The job will be varied and interesting and you will find yourself involved in every aspect of our children and young people's lives – including practical, hands on activities, offering vital emotional, guidance and support – and bringing your personal care, attention and structure to every child's unique life. Each day will bring its own set of challenges, obstacles and victories, as well as the personal rewards of working with each individual to help them achieve their personal best – whatever that may be.

We are looking for motivated care professionals who will strive to meet each young person’s individual needs at all times. Although it is not essential you have experience supporting young people with special needs, it would be beneficial for you to have an understanding of Autism.

Benefits of this role:

  • Full time role working day shifts - day shifts are 12 hours long (08:00 – 20:00) and on a 2 week rolling rota (week 1 - Monday, Thursday and Friday, week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday)
  • Permanent employment with fantastic training opportunities
  • Specialist Recruitment Consultant dedicated to supporting you through your role
  • Access to our CPD Academy
  • Pension Scheme

The school is not easily accessed by public transport so it is essential you have a UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
