CACHE Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Cardiff CF14)

The school is located between Cathays and Heath in the heart of Cardiff and is firmly committed to outdoor and environmental learning, using all the opportunities available within the local community. The curriculum is theme based and creative providing the children (and staff) with many first hand experiences to enhance and deepen learning.

The school is larger than average and situated on a split site with the Nursery, Reception and KS1 on one floor and KS2 on another level. It is very popular with a long waiting list for pupil places throughout. Currently on roll there are approximately 450 pupils including nursery. The pupils are delightful, energetic and excited about their learning.

The Senior Leadership Team are looking to appoint a qualified Teaching Assistant (CACHE Level 3 or equivalent/above) to be part of their committed, professional team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within their department of choice (ie Foundation Phase or KS2) based on where their specialism lays and thanks to the school being flexible with their support staff.
You should have experience of working with children in a Primary school setting and be sensitive towards their Educational needs and their families. Your starting salary will be subject to pro rata as the above position is full-time, term-time only.

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide at least two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff
