Job Title: Intervention Teacher
Location: Nottingham
Contract Type: Full-Time, temporary (perm for the right candidate)

About the Role:

As an Intervention Teacher, you will play a crucial role in empowering and supporting difficult children within our school community. Your expertise in implementing targeted strategies and providing individualized attention will contribute significantly to these students' personal and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Individualized Intervention Plans: Collaborate with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and teachers to identify children who require additional support. Design and implement personalized intervention plans to address behavioural, emotional, and academic challenges.
  • Providing One-on-One Support: Offer targeted one-on-one support to students, assisting them in overcoming difficulties and building essential life skills. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Creating a Safe and Inclusive Environment: Establish a safe and inclusive space where difficult children can feel understood, supported, and respected. Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages growth, resilience, and self-confidence.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and monitor the progress of each student receiving intervention. Adjust strategies as needed and provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and the school team.
  • Collaborating with Staff and Parents: Work closely with teachers, counsellors, and parents to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to support. Collaborate on strategies to reinforce positive behaviours in both the classroom and home environments.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience with Difficult Children: A track record of successfully working with challenging students and implementing effective behaviour management and intervention techniques.
  • Empathy and Patience: Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with and understand the needs of difficult children.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to build positive relationships and foster collaboration.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to tailor interventions to suit individual student needs and be adaptable in responding to changing circumstances.
  • Commitment to Inclusivity: A passion for promoting diversity and inclusivity in the classroom and school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
