Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant. This position is due to start in September, at the beginning of the academic year and will be working full time. For the successful candidate, there is the potential to be permanently contracted, based on good feedback.

The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week.

Our client school is currently looking for an enthusiastic Maths Graduate to support their Maths Department as a Teaching Assistant. The main responsibility of this role is to support the Teacher in their delivery of lessons.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work with smaller groups of pupils, under the supervision of the teacher, to implement Individual Learning Plans and lesson plans.
  • Giving regular feedback about pupils to the Teacher
  • Ensure that all child protection procedures are successfully enforced.
  • Accompany teachers on external visits.
  • To build positive relationships with the pupils to encourage better learning development.

This client school is in the Centre of Manchester. They provide an excellent standard of education to students between the ages of 11 and 18. Currently, the school holds an Ofsted rating of 1, meaning that they are currently considered to be ‘Outstanding’. Despite the school being in a disadvantaged area, with the proportion of students who are eligible for free school meals, being over 10% higher than the national average, currently they are achieving excellent academic results and have minimal behavioural issues. 59% of their pupils are currently leaving year 11 with at least a grade 5 in both Maths and English, this is over 10% higher than the local average.

The highlight of this position for a Maths Graduate is that it will be a great opportunity to gain experience in the classroom in a positive working environment, with few behavioural issues. You will also be supported by Teaching Personnel as well as your school.

The successful candidate must have a Maths Degree and be enthusiastic about Maths and developing a career in education. You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, you must also be able to provide at least two employment references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
