Behaviour Support Assistant – Neath / Port Talbot – minimum of £70.00 per day

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant which is able to assist pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) and challenging behaviour. This will be situated within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), therefore an age range of 3-19 will apply. The job role is situated within Neath / Port Talbot.

We are looking for an individual which is enthusiastic to make a difference and be able to de-escalate, distract and keep pupils calm and collected during their scheduled learning times. As you can appreciate, the school will not adopt a typical school environment and experience in this area is preferred as you will be expected to use your initiative to assist and engage in de-escalation when required.

This role is not without its rewards as development with the pupils is a wonderful experience and will allow you to be part of their long term journey within education. Outdoor and indoor activities can be taken advantage of and we encourage any applicants looking to engage with the pupils in variety of ways to ensure the teaching is tailored to the individuals. Creative flare and imagination is key to this role as it can bring a new perspective of learning to the pupils which can be very effective.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
