Behavioural Teaching Assistant in Thamesmead - January Start

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work alongside a Year 3 boy, in an 'Outstanding' Primary School in the Thamesmead area. The pupil requires a Behavioural specialist who has prior experience dealing with pupils of this calibre. A minimum of 6 months experience is required from the potential candidate and the ability to deal with challenging situations intuitively. We would like someone who is able to show a good level of care, patience and demonstrate willingness to adapt and learn throughout the pupils development process. It is vital to ensure the student can attain and maintain good academic levels.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 6 months experience working with pupils with behavioural challenges
  • Be able to work full-time from (January)
  • Be confident when supporting pupils behaviour inside and outside of the classroom
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions to maintain pupils progress
  • Promote positive behaviour at all times
  • Have Restraint Handling, De-escalation or Team Teach training
  • Support in preparations of any extra appropriate classroom activities required for the pupil
  • Implement pupil safety procedures
  • Any related course or qualification would be ideal ( Youth Worker, Ex- Militants or Criminology graduates)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
