Behaviour Teaching Assistant required to start as soon as possible in York!

Are you looking for your next position in education, specifically mentoring students with a diagnosis of SEMH?

An alternative provision in York, based in Fulford, are working closely with Teaching Personnel to appoint a Behaviour Assistant. The provision provide education for students either excluded from mainstream education due to challenging behaviour or long gaps out of education or have a diagnosis of SEMH. The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant, who could perhaps be an aspiring Support Worker or an aspiring Social Worker, will be able to inspire, motivate and display role model behaviour at all times.

Behaviour Teaching Assistant, York - The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have a specific interest in education and be passionate about supporting those with additional needs
  • It is essential that you are reliable, composed, calm, resilient and patient
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with outside agencies, work colleagues and families
  • Excellent opportunity to gain invaluable experience for aspiring teachers, social workers or youth workers

Behaviour Teaching Assistant, York - The Role:

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Working closely with secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from, or are unable to access mainstream school
  • Working on improving the assigned student's attainment on a 1:1 basis
  • Full-time, long-term, £58.50-£61.50 per day plus a range of CPD courses available to you

Behaviour Teaching Assistant, York - The High School:

  • Dedicated to the social, interpersonal and academic education of students from KS3, KS4 and KS5 with SEMH difficulties and SENs such as ASC or MLD
  • A fantastically supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • The SLT provides ongoing professional training and development for all of its members of staff
  • Easy access to the provision via public transport and by car
