Job description

Teaching Personnel's Specialist SEN Branch is recruiting on behalf of a Comprehensive school based in Torbay. The school has an excellent reputation within the local authority and high expectations of both its staff and pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience working with a child with significant behavioural difficulties.

The successful candidate MUST have:

  • Good model for clear speech.
  • Ability to provide visual support in a range of formats.
  • Willingness to work 1:1 with a pupil, making clear and relevant links to work.
  • Experience of working in partnership with teachers and a range of specialists, taking guidance to provide the best support possible for the pupil, BUT this is not ESSENTIAL.
  • Individuals must be able to use their initiative, be flexible and make changes at short notice.
  • Candidates will be required to hold an enhanced DBS disclosure and be subject to safeguarding vetting OR be willing to apply for a DBS and to put it on the update service.

Who can apply?

  • Qualified Teaching Assistants with 1:1 experience or somebody who is willing to learn and put 110% in.
  • Keen individuals who can work 5 days per week and can be flexible.
  • A history of working with children with behavioural or additional needs in a professional or personal setting.
