Teaching Personnel are currently looking for passionate and enthusiastic teaching assistants to work across our SEMH schools based in the West Yorkshire region. Ideally we would like you to be flexible and complete short term requirements in the school until we find you a suitable long term placement. We are working quite closely with a specialist school which provides cross-phase education for children with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.The school works in partnership with local primary and secondary schools to provide alternative education pathways.The school is Ofsted graded as an ‘outstanding school’, As well as having “Very effective strategies are in place to ensure that teaching is of the highest order and pupils get the most out of a very rich curriculum. An excellent ethos for learning has been created.”We are particularly looking for teaching assistants who have an interest in SEN / SEMH and in particular the autistic spectrum condition or keen to support children who could display some quite challenging behaviours.
Experience in a school is desired but not essential as we also look for experience in areas such as social care, youth work or nursing background. Particular personal or professional experience of supporting individuals with Autism or mental health is highly desirable as is an understanding of the complexities related to the behaviour in this condition.
A Team Teach qualification or other relevant training would be an advantage but again is not essential as Teaching Personnel have the facility to be able to offer training and have a range of CPD courses available throughout the year. The pay will range from between £55 a day to £80 dependant on experience.
