Behaviour Teaching Assistant required in Huddersfield

• CPD Courses in partnership with Leeds Trinity such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness and Moving and handling.
• Great Pay rates from between £60 to £90 a day dependant on experience

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEMH behaviour setting based in Huddersfield. The post is to start as soon as possible and you will be required to work during term time until the end of the academic year. The post also has the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff if successful in the role.

The school work with children who display very challenging behaviour and have personal/home issues. The have SEMH needs as well as SEN needs such as Autism. They offer the chance to teach pupils functional skills as well following the national curriculum . You must be able to use your skills across all areas of education, and teach the children to each of their own ability. The school offers the opportunity to take pupils on trips away and days out.

You will need to be resilient and have a holistic approach when working with pupils. You must be proactive in your approach with the children and have a firm but fair approach. You will need to support teachers in helping children overcome barriers to learning, de-escalate challenging behaviour in the school and engage with the pupils.

The Ideal candidate for this role would desirably possess the following experience and qualification.

• Previous experience of working within a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting

• Team Teach Qualification

• Resilient and proactive nature – willing to over come challenges that will occur daily

• Teaching Assistant Qualification
