Behaviour Support Worker - Preston

Start date: 4th March 2019

End Date: July 2019

Location: Preston

Daily rate: £54-£62 per day

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant with excellent behaviour management and experience in working with challenging children in a secondary school setting. An average sized, mixed secondary school in Preston are looking for an experienced and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team of staff to help support lower ability classes in KS3/4.

"It's especially an important time of year for our year 11 students. We tend to struggle with behaviour around GCSE Exams, and we are looking for a Teaching Assistant with extensive experience of managing children, however we are also looking for someone who is personable and builds relationships easily and quickly"

The role will consist of 1:1 support of LAC children, managing 'silly' behaviour as well as general responsibilities within the classroom supporting the Teacher and pupils and Working within the schools' internal exclusion units and in collaboration with SENCOs, you will provide both academic and pastoral support to children who have demonstrated challenging behaviour.

You MUST:

- Be enthusiastic and flexible

- Have excellent organisational skills

- Have a high level of literacy and numeracy

- Have significant experience in working with challenging children, and/or SEN needs

- Have a proven success of supporting students or children (in or outside of school)

- Have the ability to manage groups (up to 12 pupils) with directed interventions

- Be an effective team player

- Have knowledge of Safeguarding & Child Protection policies
