Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bradford to cover a long term sickness.
The PRU is situated in the Great Horton area of Bradford and caters for 65 pupils Aged 11-16 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with pupils, supporting them to access learning activities. You will have the ability and creativity to motivate, inspire and engage young people in line with the school's behaviour policy. You will also have excellent behaviour management skills to deal effectively with challenging behaviour and emotional outbursts.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a sound understanding of meeting the needs of learners with SEMH needs
- Possess excellent behaviour management skills (additional training in Team Teach or equivalent crisis intervention is highly desirable)
- Be confident in communicating at all levels i.e. with staff, pupils, parents/carers and key professionals
- Have the commitment to developing inclusion for pupils
