  • Pay of £1200 - £1300+ per month

Due to an increase in pupil enrolment, an exciting Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant opportunity has emerged within one of our client schools in South Manchester. The Principal of this vibrant secondary school hopes to appoint a teaching assistant with previous experience supporting pupils who struggle to engage and sometimes display challenging behaviour.

Working in partnership with the SEN Coordinator, the successful applicant will be required to support pupils (aged 11-16) learning and development, ensuring they engage within classes and act as a role model to those who require additional guidance in order to reach their full potential.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant you will spend time delivering small group and individual sessions to pupils within the school inclusion unit, as well as support the transition back into full classes. This is a rewarding role where no day will be the same and you will have the opportunity to support in all curriculum and subject areas.

The school wish to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant who meet the below criteria;

  • Must have worked within secondary education/have transferable skills related to supporting pupils aged 11-16
  • Be confident and able to adapt to support pupils within all subject areas
  • Be able to build positive working relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour and help them engage within lessons.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs is advantageous but not essential

Located in South Manchester, our client school is just a short drive from the city centre. The school offers on site parking to all members of staff and is easily accessible via transport from Manchester City Centre. The school has recently had a £11.6m investment and the school now has excellent modern facilities throughout.
