Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a 'GOOD' school based in Stockport, SK6. The school is looking for a devoted, knowledgeable & experienced SEN teaching assistant to join their school in their specialised behavioural unit that's within the school.

This 2 form 'GOOD' school has been praised for its multiculturalism and welcoming & friendly environment. The successful candidate will have recent experience of working with pupils with complex behavioural issues that require additional support, so the ideal candidate will not only be a fantastic teaching assistant, you will have experience of behaviour management as well as having a lots of patience when working with challenging children.

To be considered for this post you must have previous experience working with SEN children & you will also need to have an understanding of a behaviour system. Being team teach trained or a diploma in ADHD will be an advantage but not necessary. To be considered for the position you must

  • Have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs & Behavioural Needs
  • Have a proactive approach to assisting the teacher with an ability to respond to challenging and difficult behaviour
  • Team teach training desirable

The full time Teaching Assistant positon will begin after the Easter Holidays on a full time basis & will continue until the end of the academic year. The opportunity to be made a permanent member of staff may be possible for the right candidate.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
