Are you a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young people within an SEN/ PRU setting and is looking to make an impact on the lives of young children? If you are an SEN specialist and in particular have experience working as a behaviour support worker we want to hear from you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN/ behaviour support worker to work within an SEN Setting in Wakefield to deliver 1:1 behaviour support. As the successful candidate you must have previous experience working with pupils with behavioural needs and have the ability and confidence to work on a 1:1 basis delivering the curriculum based on the teacher's expectations, this will include low level Maths and English. Team teach would be ideal.

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit with sites across Wakefield, Pontefract, Upton and Castleford. It carers to students from 7-14 years old who have been excluded from mainstream education. These students need someone to help them transition into the setting from mainstream and to help them reengage.

Although the vast majority of this role will be spent delivering 1:1 support there will be opportunities to work across the schools supporting other departments.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
