Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an SEND provision in Stockton who are seeking a behaviour support assistant on a full time basis, to commence in the new academic year working with students who display challenging behaviour within a Pupil Referral Unit.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils across Key Stages 2 and 3, the students are in need of extra support and guidance primarily with their English, Maths and Science; however some support may be needed for some students across other elements of the curriculum. The main aspect of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be expected to monitor children's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role. The pupils in this school are unable to be within mainstream education so you will be supporting through any challenges that they may be facing at the time.
