 Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

 Salary: £28598-£31022 per annum

About the Role

  • Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist education setting in Basingstoke to appoint an experienced and passionate Behaviour Support Manager.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to take the lead in supporting students who display high-risk behaviours and have significant learning difficulties that make it difficult for them to succeed in mainstream education.
  • The successful candidates will play a key role in creating a safe, positive, and structured learning environment where every young person is supported to reach their potential.
  • We are looking for one permanent and one temporary for maternity leave

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of behaviour support staff, ensuring consistent and effective practice.
  • Implement proactive, evidence-based strategies to reduce behavioural incidents and promote positive engagement.
  • Support staff in managing challenging situations and responding to crisis behaviours in a calm, professional manner.
  • Develop individualised behaviour and support plans in collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and analyse behaviour data to inform interventions and whole-school strategy.
  • Foster a restorative, trauma-informed culture across the provision.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong experience working with children or young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Is confident in behaviour management and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Can lead, motivate, and support others effectively.
  • Demonstrates empathy, resilience, and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Holds relevant training or qualifications in behaviour management, psychology, education, or a related field (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
