Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school based the Aycliffe area to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to support students with social emotional and mental health difficulties on a full time basis, to commence after the February half term until the end of the academic year. The role will be in a specialist SEND school, working with vulnerable young people to help them turn their lives around; you will be working with the support of an extensive professional team of staff. The children in the provision display extremely challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will be confident in approaching this. The client school welcomes applications from a variety of backgrounds including those from youth work or army/military, experience working with SEMH, EBD and BESD is extremely desirable.

You will be helping pupils to work towards formal qualifications so an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant with a desire for working with young people is required, you do not need a teaching assistant qualification for this role although it may be useful. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding support to students and passionate making a real difference!
