The Head Teacher of a specialist SEND school are recruiting for a full time Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students with social emotional and mental health difficulties 5 days per week during school time. You will commence in the role ASAP and it will be ongoing until the end of the academic year. There is potential for a permanent contact to the right contract.
The role will be in a specialist SEND school, working with vulnerable young people to help them turn their lives around; you will be working with the support of an extensive professional team of staff. The children in the provision display extremely challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will be confident in approaching this. The client school welcomes applications from a variety of backgrounds including those from youth work or army/military, experience working with social, emotional mental health difficulties.
You will be helping pupils to work towards formal qualifications so an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant with a desire for working with young people is required, you do not need a teaching assistant qualification for this role although it may be useful. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding support to students and passionate making a real difference!
We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
