Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants who are interested in working with Special Educational Needs students across Primary and Secondary. The main focus of the role will be to help the behaviour management team implement behaviour plans within the classroom. You would be supporting 1:1 and at times supporting the whole class where you would observe, plan interventions and improve behaviour.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working with children who have a wide range of needs such as:

  • Poor self esteem
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Inability to form appropriate social relationships
  • A diagnosis of Autism and ADHD

Role:

  • Providing ongoing support to children with special educational needs
  • Growing pupils confidence and encouraging them towards independence
  • Providing a calming environment for children

Personal qualities required:

  • A good listener and sensitive to pupils needs
  • A sense of responsibility
  • Positive behaviour management
  • A good sense of humour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
