Wakefield Behaviour support assistant

Due to an extremely high demand Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a number of Behaviour Support Assistant's on a full time basis for the final term to work at a primary school in WF8.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health
• Have a sound understanding of meeting the needs of learners who can exhibit challenging behaviour
• Be passionate about supporting the delivery of an alternative curriculum
• Possess additional training in Team Teach, MAPA or other recognised Positive Intervention training

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will need to be patient, with a great deal of resilience in order to provide reliable support to young people in times of stress. You will have a strong commitment to young people and a sound understanding of the factors affecting their lives. In addition, you will have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with pupils, a large staff team, multi-agency professionals and parents/carers.

In addition if you a background in Youth or Social Work, counselling or experience within a Youth Offending Team would be desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
