Behavioural Specialist Teacher Required in Newark – Part Time February Half Term Start

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a tutor in the Long Eaton area to teach a KS4 student with ADHD, SEMH and Challenging Behaviour. Due to their SEN, the student is unable to attend school, and therefore the 1:1 tuition will occur in the home. The student lives in a residential home, at risk of self-harm, and working below their age-expected level.

About the Role:

  • 1:1 Tuition for a Year 11 student with ADHD or challenging behaviour
  • 10 hours a week
  • In person, in the student’s home
  • Working materials and resources will need to be provided by the tutor
  • Focus on cross-curricular academic work, and providing additional social and emotional support

Who we are looking for:

  • People who are comfortable lone working and communicating with local authorities
  • Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour
  • Tutors who can plan, produce, and teach cross-curricular lessons at lower KS4 level, as well as provide additional social support
  • Tutors who are familiar with the care system

Requirements:

  • Teacher with QTS
  • Previous experience teaching KS4
  • Experience of teaching and working with children with SEN
  • Child workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel)
