Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

A Specialist Provision situated in Rochdale are currently looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant. This position will start immediately after October half term and the succesful application will work 8.30am - 3.40pm (Monday - Friday).

 

This particular setting caters for secondary aged pupils who are aged 11 - 16 and have SEMH needs or siginificant emotional or behavioural issues. The successful behaviour support assistant will be working directly with pupils with complex additional educational needs, across all secondary key stages.  Due to the nature of the needs of the young people it would be ideal for candidates to have either professional or personal experience of dealing effectively with challenging behaviour.

Ideally applicants will have:

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade A* - C or an equivalent qualification

  • A qualification in Youth Work or similar

  • Experience working within a PRU or children's residental home
  • Extensive experience working with young people with SEMH needs
