Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

Full-time, temporary position commencing ASAP, for a Behaviour Support Assistant within a secondary special school located in Shirehampton. The school caters for pupils 11-19 who have MLD, PMLD or severe learning difficulties. If you are an experienced Behaviour Support Assistant with extensive experience working with pupils who show signs of challenging behaviour this position could be ideal for you.

The position will initially be temporary, with the possibility for permanent dependent on the need of the school. As a Behaviour Support Assistant your roles will include, supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural needs and implementing interventions to improve the behaviour of pupils who show signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

  • A Teaching Assistant qualification Level 2 (Level 3 desirable)
  • Extensive experience working within special school
  • Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour and preferably experienced delivering targeted interventions
  • Current Team Teach Certificate

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
