Behaviour Support Assistant

-          Full time role

A school in the heart of Accrington have approached Teaching Personnel in order to find a supportive support assistant to start in September 2020, with the potential opportunity of on a permanent contract in the Spring/ Summer term. The role will be full-time due to the needs of the individual child. The child who requires the support will be starting in Year 3 in September, before the school closures their behaviour was affecting the general behaviour within the class. At the beginning of the academic year, you will be working with the child on a 1:1 basis outside of the class providing a tailored approach to the National Curriculum. By the end of the Autumn term, the Head Teacher would like the child to be working within the classroom environment with the continued 1:1 support in place.

The Head Teacher is looking for an individual who can come into school and build a strong working relationship with the child as well as the teaching staff in school. It is a necessity, if you wish to apply, that you have experience working in an education or care setting, supporting children or young adults with Autism, or associated behavioural needs. It is preferable that you have undergone professional development to support your experiences (courses such as; Autism Awareness and Team Teach) this is not a necessity as there will be opportunities to complete this with Teaching Personnel.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:45 – 3:30)

Salary: GBP10 - GBP11.50 per hour

Start date: Monday 7th September
