Behaviour Support Assistant

 

Primary School in Blackburn

Experience supporting challenging behaviour is essential 

TEAM TEACH trained is desirable

Long term role available

Full time (Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3.30pm)

 

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a mainstream primary school in Blackburn to source a strong support assistant ideally with a TEAM TEACH qualification to work with a challenging Key Stage 2 class. The aim of TEAM TEACH is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.  The role would be working in Year 4, starting the mid/ the end of October 2020 for an academic year initially with a view to becoming a permanent position.

You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This will sometimes be challenging behaviour on a physical level. You would be supporting children who are at risk of exclusion. Prior experience working in a PRU, secure unit, and young offenders institute or challenging environment is desirable.
