Job description

Behaviour Support Assistant

Full time 1:1 behaviour support role

Key Stage 1

Primary School in Accrington

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a large primary school and the Headteacher is seeking additional support for one of their Year 2 pupils. Coming from a challenging background, the pupil has behavioural issues and the Headteacher is ideally seeking a positive role model to work on a 1:1 basis with them to improve their behaviour.

The start date for the role would be Thursday 3rd September 2020. The Headteacher is looking for a support assistant who can commit to the role for the full academic year, with the potential of a school contract in the future. This pupil thrives from routine and for the stability of the child, the Headteacher has stated that ideally, they would be looking for the 1:1 support to continue for the rest of their time at the primary school.

The incoming support assistant will enjoy the benefits of working in a primary school in Accrington. When the pupils join the school in Reception, there is normally a high number of children who are not ‘school ready’ however when they leave in Year 6 results are generally in line with age related expectation.

Teachers and teaching assistants who have worked in school through Teaching Personnel enjoy working in school because behaviour is exemplary and attendance is good, in addition the support from senior leaders is consistent and evident.
