Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

Our client school have an urgent need for an education with a background in supporting SEMH to join them on a temporary basis, supporting a number of key students for the remainder of this academic year.

The position requires someone with previous experience supporting SEMH students in a school or education setting.

  • Weekly pay, paid week in arrears, GBP300 - GBP325pw
  • Providing 1:1 support to SEMH in mainstream education
  • North Manchester based secondary with modern facilities throughout

Situated slightly north of the Manchester city centre, our client school is a large and modern secondary academy with outstanding provisions for learning, with students able to work in the Pupil Services Unit which has been specially designed with teaching and learning at the forefront for students with additional needs. The school has recently seen an improvement in results, with last years GCSE results the best ever achieved, which can be accredited to the improvements in all key areas including teaching and learning, along with behaviour and safety of students.

Highlights of the position as a SEMH teaching assistant;

  • Providing 1:1 and small group intervention to students aged 11-16
  • Providing social and pastoral care to students from a range of backgrounds
  • Gain an understanding in supporting students who display challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
