Behaviour Support Assistant

Job description

A school in South Manchester is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join the support staff team in September.

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Graduates (who want to teach in the future)
  • Individuals with experience of managing large groups of children.
  • Those with experience working with children who may display challenging behaviour

Pay hourly: Between GBP10 and GBP15.

The applicant will be required to manage student behaviour effectively, providing feedback on student progression and engagement. The applicant will report back to student leaders as well as the school SENCO. It is also important to note that the role will also involve holding regular parental meetings.

The role will enable the applicant to gain invaluable experience in the monitoring of student behaviour. The role will be split across classroom based work, as well as working on a more pastoral basis. Many of the students will be from vulnerable backgrounds, and so the ability to display empathy is paramount. The applicant will also work closely with students with SEN.

Located in Tameside, the school is a short distance from the city centre. Transport links are plentiful, both on public transport (bus, tram, train) as well as motorway links also being within close proximity of the school site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
