Behaviour support assistant - Bury

  • Previous SEN and SEMH experience is essential

  • Salary - £285 - £300 a week
  • Prestwich, Bury (M25)

A primary school based in Prestwich (M25) is currently looking for a teaching assistant to work across the Key Stage 1 classes. The school has had a large intake of pupils with SEN and SEMH needs and wants an experienced teaching assistant to come in and support a number of pupils with social and emotional interventions to help raise attainment in the class room.

The Head teacher is looking for a confident and highly skilled teaching assistant to run small groups and 1:1 sessions with children with SEMH and Special educational needs. If you want to make a difference working with children who struggle in mainstream schools this could be the perfect job for you.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous SEN or SEMH experience
  • Good knowledge of the KS1 national curriculum
  • A flexible and creative approach to learning
  • Experience utilizing SEN and behavioural strategies for structured learning

This Prestwich based school is slightly smaller than average and has been graded 'Good' by a recent Ofsted inspection. The primary school has a very close connection to the local community and has a strong community ethos.
