Teaching Personnel are working with an alternative Provision in Bradford who are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant on a full time basis in September.

The school is situated in the Manningham area of Bradford, catering for young people aged 11-16 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. The provision offers an alternative curriculum, focusing on vocational subjects such as Construction, Health and Social Care, and Animal Care alongside core subject lessons in Maths and English.

The successful applicant will work with colleagues to provide an effective, caring and understanding environment where young people can overcome disadvantage and lack of provision to achieve their full potential in life through the enthusiastic delivery of relevant education, training and leisure opportunities.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be patient, with a great deal of resilience in order to provide reliable support to young people in times of stress. You will have a strong commitment to young people and a sound understanding of the factors affecting their lives. In addition, you will have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with pupils, a large staff team, multi-agency professionals and parents/carers.

You must be available for a minimum of 3 days during term time, able to deal effectively with challenging behaviour and committed to meeting the Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs of young people as well as supporting access to learning.

In addition to experienced Teaching Assistants, we would also like to hear from you if you have a background in Youth or Social Work, counselling or experience within a Youth Offending Team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
