Behaviour Support assistant required for a Blackburn Primary school

Teaching Personnel have been approached by a using school in Blackburn to source a strong Teaching Assistant with a Team Teach qualification to work with a challenging Key Stage 2 class. The aim of Team Teach is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people. The role would be working in Year 3, starting in September 2019 for an academic year initially with a view to becoming a permanent position.

You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This will sometimes be challenging behaviour on a physical level. You would be supporting children who are at risk of exclusion. Prior experience working in a PRU, secure unit, and young offenders institute or challenging environment is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
