Are you an experienced Behaviour Specialist?
We may have your ideal role!
Teaching Personnel are currently representing a school in South Sheffield, who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant for a September post. Ideally we are looking for someone with full time availability, due to the nature of the support needed.
We are looking for someone who has experience supporting children with SEMH, ASC, BESD, ADHD and PDA. The ideal candidate will be Team Teach trained (or willing to undergo training) and have experience delivering Nurture interventions. There are many children who find starting a school in September a challenge - with new teachers and timetables. Many children can be unsettled and express challenging behaviour - we are looking for someone with experience managing children on a 121 or small group basis for a September start. You will be expected to work with children who are finding transition challenging and who need additional support in school. You will need to act as a role model and mentor to children who are finding the school environment a challenge, this will include delivering structured activities and learning programmes to support pupils in building relationships and will need to take into account pupil learning styles and positive behaviour management. As a 'behaviour buddy' you will need to challenge and motivate children in your care, to reinforce self-esteem and encourage them to take part in whole class activities in a positive manner.
Our Ideal Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:
- Minimum of NVQ L2 or equivalent
- Good Literacy, Numeracy and communication skills (A - C, GCSE Levels)
- Recent experience in a school/PRU/Youth Work setting
- Team Teach/MAPA qualification
- Good understanding of child development and play led learning
- Ability to create an inclusive environment
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently and as part of a team
In turn, Teaching Personnel can offer you;
- Up to £70 per day, depending on previous experience
- Ongoing development through our unrivalled CPD Academy
- A dedicated consultant who will work for you
- Support with interviews to find your ideal position
- Work in schools exclusive to Teaching Personnel
- Full and Part Time work to fit around your existing commitments
- Experience in a range of settings, including Integrated Resource Units
To apply for this role, please forward your full CV to Yasmin Sims in the Sheffield South Primary Team or call us on 0114 2413343 for more information.
