Behaviour Mentors Required for Newcastle Schools

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Behaviour Mentors experienced in supporting students with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. There are roles available to start in September across various provisions in Newcastle.

Ideally applicants will have a Team Teach qualification or be willing to complete the training. Experience working with children and young people with SEMH and Behaviour in either a school setting or alternative provision would be beneficial . Additional qualifications such as Moving & Handling are desired but not mandatory. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as Youth Workers or Support Workers as well as recent graduates.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 6 months experience working with children or young people with SEMH
  • Team Teach Qualification
  • Moving & Handling or Personal Care
  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Supporting and Learning in Schools
  • Patient and nurturing manner

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
