Behaviour mentors needed for Tameside Secondary Schools in September.

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of client schools across the borough of Tameside looking to appoint Behaviour Mentors to support students throughout the academic year. The role of a behaviour mentor will consist of supporting specific students who have social emotional mental health, behavioural or counselling support needs.

This highly rewarding job role would be well suited to someone with experience of supporting young people in an educational, health/social care or youth work setting. This is a full time post working with students on a small group and at times 1:1 basis. You will be working alongside the schools Special Educational Needs Department who will provide regular training and specific strategies to ensure pupils have the best possible learning experience and are achieving expected levels of progress. To apply for this role you will need to have a passion for developing young people, patience and empathy to adjust as required to the needs of the students. A relevant qualification in youth work, social care or counselling would be beneficial but not essential criteria. Suitable teaching references and eligibility for a fully enhanced DBS certificate will be a requirement.The school will be looking to conduct interviews prior to the academic year in September so you must attend to be successful.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
