Job description

Full time Learning Mentor required for a Salford based Secondary school from November 2018, on a temporary ad-hoc basis till the end of the academic year.

Teaching Personnel are working in collaboration with a Roman Catholic Secondary school to recruit a dynamic, resilient and passionate Behaviour Mentor to join their support department after half term.

  • Full time Behaviour Mentor position, from November 2018.
  • Initially on a temporary ad-hoc basis with the potential to progress onto a fixed long term contract.
  • Access to CPD training programmes through our partner Secondary School.
  • Earn up to £1350 per month.

The Swinton based Secondary school recently published GCSE results were in line with the national average with 89% of pupils achieving 5+ and the progress made in English and Mathematics is above the national expectancies from KS2 - KS4. The school is well led by the Senior Leadership Teams who have a clear and direct plan of continued improvement.

This post as a Behaviour Mentor will have certain requirements;

  • The ability to effectively manage challenging behaviour in different environments
  • The ability to quickly build rapport with students and ensure focused learning takes place
  • Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour in an educational capacity

Located in Salford the school can easily be accessed via the M60/A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport options available locally to school with links across Greater Manchester.s

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
