Behaviour Mentor - Middlesbrough - September 2018

Job description

An OFSTED rated "Good" school in the Middlesbrough area is currently recruiting for a behaviour mentor to work 1 2 1 and in small groups, from September 2018 until Christmas (with the potential to be extended for the right candidate).

Ideally applicants would have experience with SEMH, although this is not essential. All applicants should posses the correct behaviours in order to support SEMH students within the classroom. Additional training such as Team Teach and de-escalation is advantageous. The provision is easily accessible from the A19 and other main routes, including regular bus routes with parking also on site.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Teaching Assistant/HLTA experience with relevant additional qualifications or other transferable skills such as ex forces or sports coaches
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or a willingness to learn
  • Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
