Salary GBP1250 - GBP1350 per month
Due to an upcoming vacancy, Teaching Personnel are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a successful secondary school located in Wythenshawe. The successful Behaviour Mentor will be required on a full time basis from January – July 2020.
The successful Behaviour Mentor will work with disengaged students and students at risk of exclusion. They will create professional positive relationships with students with the aim to remove any barriers to learning and to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will provide support to teachers and students, addressing the needs of students who display challenging behaviour and those who require assistance in overcoming any barriers to learning.
As a behaviour mentor, the successful candidate will also work with teaching staff and/or other support staff in devising and implementing individual learning plans to promote students’ academic, social, emotional and behavioural development. They will also work with individuals and groups both inside and outside of the classroom setting to manage any challenging behaviour appropriately.
To apply for this role you must:
- Have a C or above in GCSE English and Maths
- Have experience working with young people aged 11-16
- Be proactive, motivated and be able to engage with challenging young people
- Be available on a full time basis from January 2020
Our client school is a large mainstream secondary school located in the Wythenshawe area of South Manchester. Due to the demographics of the school, there is a high percentage of students who receive pupil premium funding and a number of students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds. Despite this, the school has become extremely popular and high reputable in the area for its Outstanding teaching, learning and pastoral support.
The school is located in South Manchester and is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas. For those who drive, the school is easily accessible by the M60 ring road or the M56 motorway.
