Job description

A specialist academy in Lincoln is currently seeking a full time Behaviour Mentor. The role will be to provide emotional support to students in the classroom. Often students at this centre struggle with Social Emotional Mental Health, and have had lots of school changes as well as changes in their personal lives. The role is to help provide the support and stability needed for those who need it the most, which will help them remain on track and focussed in the classroom.
At first, it may take a bit of time to get to know the students before feeling like you are making a difference, however once you have built the rapport with these students, the role is extremely rewarding.
Students are usually working at a lower level due to having missed school previously or having additional needs which may have gone unnoticed, such as Dyslexia or Autism.
You will be required to work Monday - Friday (inclusive) from 8:30am - 4:00pm.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with challenging behaviour, whether it be children or adults. Often the school will choose candidates based on personality over experience, so please still apply if you don't have the relevant experience.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
