Do you have experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health?

Have you supported students on a 1:1 basis from a vulnerable and challenging background?

If you can answer yes then Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you.

We are currently working with multiple schools in the Harrogate area who are searching for a behaviour support worker for long term placements and temp-permanent positions.

As a behaviour support worker, you must show a talent for dealing with challenging behaviour, demonstrate a level of resilience whilst at work, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with both pupils and staff.

Throughout this role, you will need to demonstrate effective behaviour management techniques, build rapport and trust with young SEN learners to de-escalate incidents and promote learner growth, and create a safe educational environment.

These positions require you to be experienced in supporting pupils and young adults with challenging behaviours. Depending on the role and your experiences, you could be working across a variety of educational settings such as mainstream, SEN, PRU's, as well as settings such as residential sites.

As a behaviour support worker, you are responsible to work alongside teachers, managers, and other classroom staff in order to support the learners and young adults in a constructive and controlled learning environment, both inside the classroom and around the setting.

The Role:

• Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for the learners and young adults involved.

• Working within a supportive staff grouping where everyone follows the same standards and ethos.

• Gaining first-hand experience within the SEN/BESD sector.

If you are interested in this position, please contact the West Yorkshire SEN branch. We would love to hear from you!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
