The Head Teacher along with the Governors at a small Bury based Academy is seeking to appoint a resilient Behaviour Mentor, on a full time basis from Easter 2019 until the end of the academic year.

  • Full-time Behaviour Mentor required from Easter 2019.
  • Experience working with young people who display challenging/disruptive behaviour is essential to be considered for this role.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Academy.
  • SEN/SEMH experience is highly desirable with access to various CPD training programmes.
  • Earn up to £1300+ a month, dependant upon experience.

Due to the sensitive nature of this Behaviour Mentor role, you will be expected to take an objective approach when working with young people as the development of their teaching and learning at the forefront of support. Our partner Academy pride themselves in providing on going training to all their staff and you can expect to be supported through this.

The incoming Behaviour Mentor will be joining a strong dedicated support department; noted for their commitment to the progress of all pupils.

The responsibilities will include;

  • Experience working with young people at a teaching and/or learning capacity is essential to be considered for this role, due to the nature of the pupils you will be supporting.
  • De-escalate, engage and support pupils who display disruptive and or challenging behaviour alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Work alongside SENCO to support identified pupils in accordance to school policies.
  • Experience of working with challenging young people and the ability to defuse and de-escalate their behaviour.
  • Resilient, empathetic and pupil centred approach and the ability to work under high pressure situations.

This recently converted Academy has just under 800 pupils on roll, aged 11 - 16, and is located on the Bury and Bolton border near to the M66/A58 (Bury and Bolton Road) and is easily accessible local public transport options.
