Behaviour Mentor-
Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive? We are seeking a caring and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join our lively SEN school for secondary-aged students. If you’re dedicated to helping students with autism and other special educational needs reach their full potential, we want to hear from you!
Location: Torquay
Working Hours: Full-time (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Salary: £400 - £450 per week
Start Date: January 2026
About the School & Role:
Based in Torquay, our Alternative Provision school caters to secondary students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, including those displaying challenging behaviours. The successful Behaviour mentor will work either 1-1 or within small groups to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing, helping students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
✨ Providing tailored support for students with autism during lessons and activities
✨ Helping implement personalised behaviour and learning support plans
✨ Encouraging positive behaviour and social skills development
✨ Assisting with communication and sensory needs
✨ Building trusting relationships to foster independence and confidence
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or behavioural needs
Genuine enthusiasm for student development and well-being
Resilience, patience, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Ability to work collaboratively within a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
