Job description

A larger than average secondary academy in the area of Cheetham Hill has come to Teaching Personnel with two open vacancies. Both these vacancies are situated in the schools learning support unit whilst oversees the learning of children with additional needs; Autism, Dyslexia, ADHA or social, emotional mental health.

The pupils you will be supporting come for a variety of backgrounds and their needs can be extremely niche, meaning you will need to have experience dealing with challenging behaviour and have the confidence to approach this in a calm, collected manner. This is ideal for an individual who has worked in the care sector; residential, social or youth work.

Within the learning support unit, there is a SENCO who is consistently advising on how to follow new/changed IEPS, alongside a learning support pastoral manager who oversees the content of learning activities and objectives.

Due to the demographic area of this Secondary Academy, pupils are significantly disengaged and support network is limited. The school has recently updated their behaviour policies and having a major restructure with their daily routine. Extremely close to Tram stops and on a regular bus route, this position is ideal for a behaviour assistant located in Oldham, Manchester City Center or Moston.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
