Behaviour for Learning Mentor, West Wickham, Full Time

Job description

Behaviour mentor role available immediately in all age SEN school in West Wickham, working with young boys who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

If you think you can motivate and inspire young boys who have already struggled to cope in mainstream education due to their behavioural and mental health difficulties, this could be the perfect job opportunity for you.

  • Work full time 08:30am - 15:30pm Monday to Friday during term time (students are in school from 09:00am - 14:45pm)
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for boys in key stage 3 who have behavioural difficulties and need extra guidance
  • Act as a role model and promote positive behaviour - encourage change and help them to shape their lives for the better
  • Follow different subjects of the national curriculum - you will need to be able to support English and Maths up to GCSE
  • Acknowledge achievement, celebrate successes and essentially prepare students for GCSEs and then life after school
  • Previous experience of working in a PRU, youth work, being Team Teach trained or having any other form of restraint training is highly desirable
