Local Authorities in and around the Greater Manchester LEA are currently seeking to recruit Basic Skills Tutors who are able to work on a part time basis. These positions will involve working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who are being educated outside of mainstream for a variety of reasons including: SEN needs, LAC pupils and pupils who have been excluded or pupils who are teenage parents.

The tuition is for pupils who are being educated outside of Mainstream. They could be being educated outside of mainstream for a variety of reasons including: pregnancy, LAC pupils, SEMH needs or extreme challenging behaviour. In order to be considered for the role you need to be either be a Fully Qualified Teacher or have significant tutoring experience.

This role will involve building strong relationships with young people so you will need to have the appropriate skills needed to build effective working relationships with pupils. This role will involve working flexible hours which will generally be 5 days per week for 2 hours per day, however if you are seeking a full time role then there is the option to take on additional referrals.

In order to be considered for the positions you will need:

- Fully Qualified Teacher Status or significant tutoring experience

- An in depth subject knowledge across GCSE subjects

- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
