Bank Cover Supervisor

Start: ASAP

Location: Chichester

Hours: Flexible 1-5 days a week to suit your availability

Teaching Personnel work closely with local secondary schools in Chichester and the surroudning areas, predominantly graded 'GOOD' in all areas from Ofsted.  Schools are seeking to employ dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic bank cover supervisors to join their support team to supervise classes during the short-term absence of a class teacher.

The role would be well suited to an individual who has previous experience of working with young people within an education or similar capacity. It would also be a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to gain more experience before starting on their initial teacher training. The opportunity is a great one for development offering to support your continual professional development and wellbeing.

As a Bank Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom in the usual teacher's absence. The usual class teacher will provide all the materials and tools needed for the lesson ready for the you to deliver. As a bank member of staff, you will be called upon on an ad hoc basis to cover as and when needs arise.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be professional and personable
  • Be punctual, reliable, and adaptable
  • Not be afraid of hard work
  • Enjoy working with young people and able to build rapport with all types of learners
  • Have a firm but sympathetic manner, with a good sense of humour
  • Have a good standard of education (to NVQ 2/GCSE and preferably A’ Level standard) and sound literacy and numeracy skills
  • Be willing to undertake training and develop their skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
