Autism Teaching Assistant required for Enfield school

A Primary School based near Enfield Lock is looking to hire an enthusiastic and caring learning support assistant to join their inclusion team. They are looking for someone who is patient and calm, someone can set firm and clear boundaries, and can work efficiently as part of a team. You will work closely with the Early Years team, as well as the SENCo.

The role will be to work 1:1 with a child in Reception who has Autism, supporting with behaviour, social interaction as well as the National Curriculum. The successful Learning Support Assistant will:

  • be educated to degree level, or hold a CACHE Level 3
  • Have 1 year of experience supporting children/adults with Autism
  • Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and be willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Be keen to work as part of a team and have good communication skills
  • Be committed to promoting the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal opportunities to learn and develop.

Experience with PECS and/or non-verbal communication is preferable, though not essential

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
